Attention though, it's located outside of the city of Crema.
And the street that leads to it is dangerous, because it's an old small countryside road.
It's a 2 way street, with the size of a one way street, with cars passing!
We are showing you an alternative path, mostly on foot, totally safe (yes, you can go by bike too anyway).

After walking below the main River Serio Bridge (it's a 2 way street for cars)..

Keep on walking on the path distinguished by the 'red and white' flag painted on the trees. You'll pass by a disco pub called "Zanzibar". Keep it on your right and go on walking.

After the disco pub you'll find an interesting area used for sport and as a barbeque place. Keep it on your right and walk on.

Now you need to pass below the bridge, so mind NOT to turn right, but go ahead.

As you can see, there's a red and white flag painted on the bridge, so you know you're in the right direction. Keep on walking.

You have 2 options now: go straight ahead or take the upper path. There's no difference because they both lead you to the pink house. I suggest you to choose on the moment the one with less mud ;-)

Nice surprise! Did you hear a nice sound of water? It's a waterfall, with a small kind of a beach on the riverside. I suggest you not to jump in the water, it's not so clean, above all during summer, when the weather is extremely hot and probably the river is dry.

Did you notice that the signs have the same colour of the flags? Because they lead you on the same path. Remember to turn left, passing by the side of the pink house.

The crossroads: stay on the path
This picture shows exactly which way to go. just walk on the main path , without turning left or right, untill you find a crossroad. Enjoy the green riverside on the left in the meanwhile.

Here we are at the crossroad. You need to turn left, maintainig the main path. Otherwise you'd find yourelf on a big street full of cars and traffic. You can find other signs in white and red, on the corner.

Just keep on walking, straight ahead, untill you find a deviation.
On your right you'll find a nice building with a magical garden ;-) Turn left, go uphill.

Going downhill, go straight ahead. Do not turn right. Just leave the white house on your left and keep on walking.
Keep on enjoying the countryside

After some steps, if you're lucky and find yourself in a sunny day, or if the vegetation allows you to do it (mostly in winter), you can enjoy the Duomo tower from the countryside. Piazza Duomo is the place where Elio and Oliver took a seat outside of the bar, on the white table, next to the bike!

Spring days are beautiful and you can see a lot of flowers! Mostly the 'tarassaco' (yellow one) and the 'occhietti di Gesù' (literally 'small eyes of Jesus', not a lot of people knows that), the blue ones :-)

Keep on walking on and, before the wood, take a look at your left. If you're lucky you can see the beautiful 'Basilica di Sant Maria', a masterpiece of art and architecture and an important church. It was built after a miracle (officially recognized by the Church) happened. If you're planning to visit Crema near Easter, remember to go to the 'fiera di S. Maria', that is the fair that takes place in the neighborhood of Santa Maria, around the church. You can find so many stands and so many people around! :-) The period is the weekend of the week after Easter.

Follow the red and white flag and be sure you're leaving the river Serio on your left. People from Crema (the Cremaschi) call the river Serio simply 'il Serio' (the Serio) ;-)

Right after the wood yol'll find a small path on your left. Follow that, turn left! If by mistake you go ahead, you'll find yourself on a street used by cars.

Now you're entering a beautiful path full of nature, right between the river Serio (on your left) and an artificial lake (on your right. It is used for extracting sand. Infact, you can see machines around). This kind of lake is called 'cava'. This 'cava' in particular, is well known in Crema as 'cava Andreini', from the surname of the owner.

You can easily notice that there are 2 parallel paths: one higher and one lower. Don't worry: the both lead you in the same direction. You can switch from one to another in case you find a broken tree on your way :-) You can go up or down, just follow the same direction: Serio on the left and cava on the right.

You can still go up and down between the higher and the lower paths, in case you find broken trees limiting your way. Just mind the people on their bikes: sometimes they are dangerous because of the speed.

In a while you'll find a crossroad, just turn left, following the river.

The view is changing but you still maintain the Serio on your left and the buildings in the distance on your right.

In springtime you can find some fruit tree. Remember you are in a regional parc: 'il parco regionale del Serio' (River Serio regional parc)
The yellow church

You know you're getting closer to the lake when you see the yellow small church in the distance. It's the church of Castello, a neighborhood of Ricengo, a small town on the border with Crema. In fact the 'laghetto dei riflessi' is on the territory of Ricengo.

In this last part you can find korn on your right if it is summer. The korn plantations can be very high. Otherwise, you can enjoy an open view, like in the picture, if you're in winter-spring.

There it is! You can already see from the distance this structure. It is a bout some benches with tables, surrounded by a roof. This building is right in front of the lake! Enjoy this shelter after the trail :-) And remember: it is forbidden to jump in the water. The guards of the parc pass by quite often and, more than that, the lake can be dangerous because you don't see the bottom of it, take care.

It is not difficult to meet wild animals around: bunnies, birds and even turtles! Like in the picture.

Leaving the lake behind your shoulders, you will see the yellow church in the distance, if the trees are not so full of leaves. It depends on the season. Turn right and walk back on your path.

Walk with the benches and the lake on your right. There is a possible deviation on your right but you do NOT take it, just walk straight ahead untill you see the river Serio.

If it is autumn or winter, you can see the yellow church in the distance and other buildings. It means you are in the right direction. Leave the Serio on your right. If it summer you probably have korn plantation on your left, which prevent you to see the horizon :-)

Once you find the crossroads, remember to turn right, always following the river.

You can still switch between the higher and the lower path, which are equal and parallel, so it makes no difference between one or another.

You are walking on a small path that merges into a larger path. Remember to turn right in order not to find yourself on the street. Just follow the 'fiume Serio' ;-)

After turning around the white house and walking straight ahead, you'll find the crossroads again. Do not turn left towards the street: just walk right, following the main path.

You know you are walking in the right direction because you find this building. Lately used as a kind of a shop for repairing bikes.

After a while, you can see San Bernardino church in the distance. It's a dark brown tower getting out of the trees (or the fog during autumn and winter ;-) ).

You follow the path and maybe you can hear the sound of the cascade. If it is summer probably the river is dry and there is no water enough :-) But if it's another season, the sweet sound will tell show you the right direction.

Now you just need to turn around the pink house. Then choose or the lower or the higher path: they are equal and bring in the same direction. Remember, before leaving the waterfall, you can take a picture of the landscape or at some fishermen standing there :-)

Between 2023 and 2024 some new trees have been planted fresh. It was a wood with older trees before that. No worries: you are walking in a regional park that takes care about this matter. In the nature sometimes you need to make changes to preserve the environment.
